Sawtooth Development Group, LLC was formed in 2000 by it’s current managing partners, Shane Felker and Clay Sammis. They have a proven track record of successfully designing, developing, managing, and selling or leasing residential, mixed-use, office, university, retail, and industrial projects throughout the western United States. Each of these development projects has been completed on time, on budget, and always-exceeding expectations by our knowledgeable and experienced team. “Building Better Environments” isn’t just a mantra for Sawtooth Development Group, LLC, it’s what we have been doing for the past 17 years.


 Shane Felker,  CEO/Co-Founder

Mr. Felker is a San Diego native with a degree in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Mr. Felker began his real estate career in commercial leasing and sales in 1996. In 2000, Mr. Felker formed Sawtooth Development Group with Clay Sammis and began construction of high-end coastal homes and residential subdivisions. Under Mr. Felker’s direction, Sawtooth Development Group, LLC has since grown into a commercial developer of office, medical office, educational facilities, retail and industrial projects in addition to the single and multi-family residential developments that Sawtooth Development Group, LLC has produced since its inception. Mr. Felker lives in Ketchum, Idaho with his wife Hillary, daughters Sydney and Kendall and dogs Buster and Moose.


 Clay Sammis,  COO/Co-Founder

Mr. Sammis is a San Diego Native with a degree in environmental studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Mr. Sammis has been engaged in real estate development since 1990. For 10 years Mr. Sammis was involved in the development and construction of more than 1.5 million feet of commercial space and over 4,000 residential units for Sammis Properties. In 2000, Mr. Sammis formed Sawtooth Development with Shane Felker. Through Sawtooth Development Group, LLC, Mr. Sammis has developed and constructed several 75,000 square foot university campuses, residential subdivisions, high-end residential homes and various other commercial and mixed-use properties throughout the western United States. Mr. Sammis lives in Ketchum Idaho with his wife Stephanie, three boys Carter, Paxton, and Kai, dog Willow and bearded dragon Sparkles.

Mr. Desserault, a Washington state native, is a CPA (Inactive), and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration - Accounting from the University of Washington. Mr. Desserault has over 20 years of finance and operations executive experience in high growth companies within the development, adventure travel, apparel and beverage industries. Mr. Desserault lives in Ketchum Idaho with his daughter Emma and their dog Beck.

Mr. Baird, a native of Idaho, holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He worked in the audit department at BDO USA, LLP. Auditing schools, cities, native corporations, private companies and retirement plans has provided him with a good sense of accounting principles and proper financial reporting. Mr. Baird has also gained experience as a controller for an Alaska based commercial real estate company, which specialized in industrial space. Through gained experience he has been able to bring support and additional analytical abilities to the company. Mr. Baird now resides in Hailey Idaho with his wife Hayley and two children. 


 Matt Scoggins  Vice President of Development

Mr. Scoggins is a native of Texas with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.  Mr. Scoggins has more than 21 years of commercial real estate experience, with nearly $750 million dollars in real estate transactions and developments. Over multiple states Mr. Scoggins has overseen property acquisitions, entitlements, construction, sales and marketing. He has negotiated commercial leases, contracts and holds a Brokers License in Washington (inactive), Texas, and Idaho. Mr. Scoggins lives in Hailey, Idaho with his family Lindsey, Steven, Sadie, and Garrett and their two dogs.

Mrs. Dallmann is a native of Western Montana with undergraduate degrees in Architecture and General Studies and a Masters Degree in Business Administration - Marketing. Mrs. Dallmann has worked in Business Administration since 1998 and Real Estate since 2002 with a detour marketing locomotives in 2008. Mrs. Dallmann has worked in all aspects of operations from Marketing, IT, Sales, Accounting, to Business and Entity Formation. While in Real Estate, Mrs. Dallmann has coordinated the development and operations of over 75 developments, both commercial and residential. Mrs. Dallmann lives in Boise, Idaho with her husband David, daughter Paige, son Carter, dog Max, 2 cats and chickens.
